Buccaneers' Mike Evans suspended 1 game for Marshon Lattimore hit

In the middle of the Saints' 30-10 win vs. the Buccaneers, Saints rookie Marshon Lattimore and Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans got into a insane altercation. The officials did not eject anyone from the contest.

Evans was assessed a 15-yard penalty but not ejected.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already had an uphill climb going into Week 10 without Jameis Winston under center. Winston wasn't even in the game at that point, but he left the sideline to poke Lattimore, who was on the field.

Evans leads the Buccaneers with 40 catches and four touchdowns this season.

"I just let my emotions get the best of me", Evans said. "I thought (Lattimore) was picking a fight with my quarterback. It was very childish, and I shouldn't have did that".

As Lattimore and Harris were pulled back toward their side of the field, Saints coach Sean Payton marched almost half way across the field to gesture angrily at the Tampa Bay bench.

Evans has three days to appeal the suspension. Unprofessional. ... I want to play. "The league's going to do what they're going to do", he said. I shouldn't have hit him in his back like that. The visual of Evans' shove of Lattimore can be seen at about the 13-second mark of the video.
