Model, 14, dies from 'utter exhaustion' after gruelling 12-hour runway show

Modelling scandal young girl dies in China after 13 hour fashion show with no medical insurance

We just heard a tragic story about a 14-year-old Russian model who died after working a 13-hour fashion show in China.

Dzyuba's mother - who also has a young baby - bought a visa to be with her daughter but could not get it before she died. After being hospitalized, she was found to be suffering from previously undiagnosed #meningitis, which was exacerbated by sheer exhaustion from overwork.

After Shanghai, Dzyuba traveled to Yiwu in neighboring Zhejiang Province but a model shoot was canceled because she felt unwell and she returned to Shanghai. "I so much want to sleep", her mother told the television programme NTV. Her average working hours were about four to eight hours a day, the same as for other models.

Instead, he said that this was typically done by the Russian modeling agency which had originally recruited her. The newspaper also reports that she was too scared to ask for help when her illness worsened.

According to reports, Vlada began feeling dizzy and fell sick and was taken to a Shanghai hospital on Wednesday.

"I didn't sleep myself and was calling her constantly, begging her to go to hospital", she added.

Zheng asserts that Vlada could not have died while modeling at Shanghai Fashion Week because that event ended on October 18th.

In Russia she would be permitted to work three hours a week, it has been reported.

It appears the girl did not go to hospital because she had not been provided with medical insurance despite being in China on a three month contract which involved her missing school back home in Perm, in the Urals. Her workload was moderate compared with other models'.

She admitted not personally checking the girl's contract and medical insurance.

As for claims that Vlada should only have been allowed to work a few hours a week, Zheng said that his contract with the Russian agency was standard and legal.

"She called me and told me she was too exhausted".

'They treat young models with great care there.

Vlada collapsed after her temperature soared while waiting for her next appearance.

Pavel Mikov, a Kremlin human rights ombudsman in Perm, has taken on the investigation into her death.
