Xbox gets an early update (and it's a good one)

Xbox One

One of the biggest changes this update brings is the "Fluent Design System".

Xbox One update: What's new?

There's a heavy emphasis on personalisation with the fall Xbox update.

As such, you'll find more personalisation being added to the home screen, adding up to 40 pinned things, ideal if you happen to be using your Xbox more than anything else, and there are three colour theming options in the settings, including dark, light, and high-contrast. There is also a new kind of notification that lets players know if their friends are playing the same game. In a post titled Plexbox One X: The Emplexening, a silly reference to Microsoft's Xbox One X, the company announced that the app will receive a new media-centric user interface that puts a focus on browsing efficiency. So after a really careful consideration of both sides, we decided it was more than likely that the people who wanted to play the types of games we made would want to play them on a PlayStation platform, so we chose to go with PlayStation. The updated guide shows sign-in, home, messages, achievements, parties, friends, broadcasts and a new action center. It performs in a similar way to how it used to, but is now much quicker to browse and switch sections.

This was released after a lot of testing from the insider team. Xbox One console owners can now personalize their #Home Screen better with new options. So that they would be ready when the Xbox One X arrives on November 7.

The complete redesign of the dashboard is impressive, despite possibly being confusing to some Xbox One users as it hasn't received any major changes for two years.

If you are in a party, the guide will open up to the party tab.

By default, updates are downloaded and installed when the console isn't in use to reduce the impact that the update process has on the overall Xbox One experience. Pressing the guide button now brings the guide to the forefront and all the features are now laid out horizontally. Their consoles don't sell there (they technically do, but at a negligible rate), and their systems have a limited range of games that appeal to the Japanese market.

Under "Console", select "Keep my console up to date" if it isn't already. The problem? No Xbox Games are really exclusive, as they can all be played on PC.
