Daesh 'White Widow' Reportedly Killed in Syria

It was previously claimed Jones was using Hamza as human shield in an attempt to stop the US from carrying out a similar strike on her

A citizen of Britain Sally Jones died in June, a drone strike near the border of Syria and Iraq.

The spokesman told reporters: "More broadly, the United Kingdom advises against all travel to Syria".

"The Americans zapped her trying to get away from Raqqa. Quite frankly, it's good riddance", a British source told The Sun on Wednesday. A British government source told the newspaper.

Jones began posting rants online wearing black with her face veiled, posing with an AK-47, saying she wants to behead all Christians with a "blunt knife", according to a report in the Daily Mail. Many ISIS militants have reappeared after their reported deaths.

How did Jones become involved with ISIS?

A mother of two from Chatham, Kent, Jones had moved to Syria in 2013 after converting to Islam. She travelled to Syria with Joe "Jojo" Dixon, her youngest son from a previous relationship, later that year. Hussain, a British computer hacker from Birmingham, was killed by a USA airstrike in 2015. She changed her name to Umm Hussein al-Britani, and soon became a high-profile figure of the group. Hussain had previously been killed in a drone strike in 2015. Officials say she provided practical advice on how to travel to Syria and guidance on how to build homemade weapons to carry out attacks in Britain.

She was linked to a number of failed ISIS plots, including one to target the Queen, and played a role in publishing online lists of USA military personnel. She was a key recruiter of British aspiring ISIS fighters and was soon put on a USA kill list, though she continued to provide online guidance on everything from how to make homemade bombs to the best way of getting to Syria.

Given her penchant for encouraging terror attacks in the West, she was nicknamed Mrs Terror.

The city is now besieged as coalition forces attempt to drive back ISIS. According to the Sun, her death was kept quiet over fears that her son was killed as well.
