Tesla Semi-Truck Reveal Now Delayed to November

Somebody Caught What Might Be A Prototype Of Tesla's New All-Electric Semi-Truck On Video

The Tesla Model Y is still a longshot from hitting the production line, but recent reports have started speculating that a 2019 launch of the highly anticipated compact SUV from Tesla is likely to happen.

Tesla's uber-bulls have long believed the same thing is about to happen to them, with an electric vehicle - specifically the highly anticipated Model 3 - that will blow the competition away and change the industry forever.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk likes to take to social media to set the record straight, so it comes as little surprise he's done just that regarding Model 3 production. And they may be right. "In other words, all else being equal, Tesla is ~US$6000+ more expensive to produce, and will have smaller scale than its competitors". But in total during Q3 the company says it delivered more than 26,000 vehicles, setting the course to deliver 100,000 vehicles in 2017, the most the company has ever accomplished. The Wall Street Journal, which has been highly sceptical of Tesla from the outset, reported shop floor workers watching young colleagues struggling to move large pieces of metal to weld together. In addition, they were down a meaningful 11% sequentially. "Semi specs are better than anything I've seen declared so far". The video shows a slowed Model 3 production line.

Regardless of what's really going on, Tesla isn't trying to emulate accepted manufacturing practices. And Tesla knows it. Having built up massive positive brand equity over the years, Tesla has the advantage of "spending" it from time to time by, frankly, deceiving the public.

With the growth in storage, microgrids proved to be flexible, responsive systems that communities - in Puerto Rico, other island nations, and many parts of sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia - could quickly install and own to provide their own power.

Not everyone is convinced.

Tesla has already succeeded with its solar projects in Hawaii and American Samoa.

Tesla's 14,065 Model S deliveries in Q3 not only marked a strong 19% sequential increase in Model S deliveries, but the quarter's deliveries were the highest since the third quarter last year.

"We are deep in production hell", Musk wrote Oct. 6, in response to a tweet asking whether those on the Model 3 waiting list would get more information about their car.
