Sheikh Hasina seeks United Kingdom support to resolve Rohingya crisis

Divided Asean urged to act on Rohingya crisis

Rohingya militants attacked Myanmar security forces in late August.

But a post on the page of the office of army chief Min Aung Hlaing said blazes at seven houses in a Rohingya village early Wednesday were started by an "Einu" or a militant from the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).

Muslim Rohingya insurgents said on Saturday they are ready to respond to any peace move by the Myanmar government but a one-month ceasefire they declared to enable the delivery of aid in violence-racked Rakhine State is about to end.

"If at any stage the Burmese government is inclined to peace, then Arsa will welcome that inclination and reciprocate".

Bangladesh police were Sunday searching for a man who defied a ban and married a Rohingya refugee, hundreds of thousands of whom have fled across the border to escape violence in Myanmar.

An estimated 2,000 Muslim Rohingya refugees are arriving in Bangladesh daily, joining over half a million others who have made the journey.

"ARSA extremist terrorist" Einu had been "urging people to run" across the border to Bangladesh, said the statement published on the office's Facebook page.

Rights groups say satellite data provides evidence of a systematic "scorched earth" campaign targeting Rohingya villages - an act the United Nations says is tantamount to "ethnic cleansing".

Khan said Bangladesh wants to "send back all Rohingya to Myanmar successfully".

Ms Hasina's assurances on Saturday came as a top United Nations official said that Bangladesh's plan to build the world's biggest refugee camp for 800,000-plus Rohingya was unsafe because overcrowding could heighten the risks of deadly diseases spreading quickly.

According to the Dhaka Tribune, Jewel followed Rafiza and searched multiple camps for her, finally succeeding and marrying her despite a 2014 law banning locals from marrying Rohingya, as the government feared refugees were marrying to gain Bangladeshi citizenship.

Fire risks in the camps were also highlighted and the coordinator further said that managing one concentrated camp is hard compared to number of different camps.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says the proposed camp will be the world's largest and much more extensive than Bidi Bidi in Uganda and Dadaab in Kenya, both of them home to around 300,000 refugees. Two thousand acres (790 hectares) of land next to the existing Kutupalong camp were set aside last month for the new Rohingya arrivals.
