Paddock also reportedly booked a hotel in Chicago during the Lollapalooza music festival at Grant Park in August, but he never showed up.

"The Boston Regional Intelligence Center is in contact with our local and federal law enforcement partners here and in Las Vegas and continues to monitor the situation", the department said in a statement.

NBC News reported that Paddock researched hotels around Fenway Park, according to an anonymous law enforcement official.

Boston officials were told that Paddock researched hotels near Fenway Park, but few if any rooms have a clear view of the stands at the venerable park. Officials say there was no evidence Paddock ever went to Chicago that weekend. He did not, however, travel to Chicago nor did he book a hotel room near Fenway Park.

"That's something that obviously concerns us but right now there's no credible threat that anyone is still out there looking to do anything like that", Evans told reporters on Thursday night.

Gov. Charlie Baker said there is no evidence of an imminent threat that has anything to do with the Commonwealth, and deferred to authorities in Vegas.

Extra security procedures will be in place for Sunday's Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and fans are urged to arrive at the ballpark early. The FBI has requested all inquiries be referred directly to them.

The Red Sox said in a statement that they have been told there's now no credible threat to Fenway Park.

But the commissioner said there's a meeting planned with officials from hotels in the area to talk about the Las Vegas shootings and how to increase society. Malia Obama, daughter of former President Barack Obama, was among the thousands of spectators at the Lollapalooza festival.
