Jammu:A Border Security Force (BSF) man was killed when Pakistani troops opened fire along the International Border (IB) in Jammu district.

"Heavy firing exchanges are going on as BSF troopers retaliated unprovoked, indiscriminate firing by Pakistan", the police officer said at around 11.15 a.m. The crossfire continued from midnight till the morning hours of Friday.

In the firing, Constable Bijender Bahadur hailing from Uttar Pradesh, who was deployed at a forward post was injured seriously. A civilian also got injured in the incident.

An Indian paramilitary personnel was killed in firing by Pakistani troops on Friday.

Islamabad accused the Indian troops of "deliberately targeting" civilians and termed it "deplorable and contrary to human dignity and worldwide human rights and humanitarian laws".

Pakistan has accused India of committing more than 700 ceasefire violations in the first nine months of this year which has resulted in the killing of 32 Pakistani civilians. Authorities are keeping vigilant with emergency services to meet any eventuality due to the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan. Until August 1, there were 285 such activities by the Pakistan armed force, while there were 228 in all of 2016, as indicated by the Indian Army, said PTI.
