Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper are super friends no more

Kathy Griffin

The comedian worked with Anderson on the New Year's Eve special for CNN for many years and they have known each other even longer than that.

Griffin in May took part in a photo shoot with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields, in which she paraded around with a prop of a bloody, severed head featuring the likeness of Trump. At that same time, Cooper slammed Griffin's inappropriate joke, saying he was "appalled" by the "clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate" photo of the president.

Arnold Kopelson, an Academy Award-winning producer who Griffin used to consider a friend, emailed Griffin with a prewritten letter to President Trump that he said she should mail to him, and which Griffin shared with me. Cooper didn't immediately jump up to support Griffin, and now the comic says she is done with the CNN anchor for good.

Griffin told the Cut that while four of Anderson's CNN colleagues reached out to offer her private support after the scandal, she didn't hear from her longtime friend until August 10.

Kathy is ready to get back into the public eye and is heading out on an worldwide tour later this year!

"I don't need this, you don't need this".

Griffin and Cooper were friends for 17 years prior to their falling out over the photo shoot.

'I am sorry. I went too far.

Following an allegedly fake hacking announcement, the comedian took to social media today to announce her upcoming "Laugh Your Head Off" tour.

She continued, "The image is too disturbing".

"Why are people still expecting me to apologize and grovel to a man that tweets like this? It wasn't amusing - I get it".

During a press conference, Griffin broke down crying over the backlash, claiming Trump has won - he broke her when all she ever wanted was to make people laugh.

To read her full interview, head over to The Cut.

"President Trump just pardoned Joe Arpaio, who was essentially running a concentration camp in the Arizona desert", she later added.

The comedienne discussed the fallout from the controversial photoshoot with NY magazine's The Cut, admitting that getting fired from the CNN New Year's Eve broadcast was only one of the life-changing consequences. "I'm a comedian; he's our f-ing president".
