Pink to get Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at MTV VMAs

We're overwhelmed. Not only did Taylor Swift announce her sixth studio album, Reputation, premiere a brand-new single called "Look What You Made Me Do", AND announce a tour all in the past couple days, but she's ALSO getting ready to debut the song's music video at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards!

The addition of the "Best Fight Against the System" category was added to the 2017 MTV VMAs to continue reflecting the audience's passion and activism around social justice issues such as environmental justice, immigration, LGBTQ equality and racial justice.

What channel: The show is, of course, on MTV.

While some of America's favorite stars will spend the evening sipping drinks from crystal-encrusted flasks (looking at you, Rihanna) and singing along during artist performances at the Forum in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, mere mortals will watch from the other side of the TV screen, anxiously waiting to see which contenders claim a moon man award. Perry, for her part, will perform a space-themed medley of her hits both old and new - and, according to Variety, might make her entrance descending from the ceiling, following on from Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl.

Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Gucci Mane, Rod Stewart and Miley Cyrus are among the acts who'll be performing at the ceremony.

Who's up for awards this year? MTV's Terrence J, Charlamagne Tha God, and Gaby Wilson will be talking to guests as they arrive, and Bleachers, Khalid, and Cardi B are set to perform. Host Katy Perry and The Weeknd have five nominations each.

Leading the pack of nominees is Kendrick Lamar, up for eight awards including artist and video of the year, plus best cinematography, art direction and visual effects. Over the past year, the network has replaced gender-specific categories with gender-neutral names in awards. VMAs producer Garrett English squashed that rumor, though, telling ET, "That's not happening as far as [I know]".

However, despite the speculation, it sounds like we probably shouldn't get our hopes up. And since those 15 seconds aren't almost enough for Swifties, the entire clip will air in its entirety during the MTV VMAs on Sunday, Swift announced on Twitter.
