Mewtwo Is The Latest Legendary Pokemon Added To 'Pokemon GO'

Pokemon GO Mewtwo set to replace Zapdos Legendary following Yokohama Stadium Event

One player who attended the Pokemon GO event in Japan has already caught a maxed out Mewtwo with a ideal move set, likely the first in the world.

More specifically, they could catch the legendary Mewtwo, and now, Niantic has announced that fellow trainers around the globe will have a chance as well. Don't worry, Niantic has got your back.

Mewtwo first made an appearance in Yokohama, Japan during a Pokémon Go Stadium event where players were invited to the world's very first Mewtwo Raid Battle.

"Unlike existing raids, trainers will be invited to join an exclusive raid battle". Unfortunately, you only get one free Raid Battle a day, as they use a consumable item called a Raid Pass.

"To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place", reads the company's blog post. These exclusive raid battles work as follows. As of right now, players can only catch Mewtwo at the event but according to Niantic, some players will have the opportunity to catch Mewtwo at exclusive raids.

Another Legendary is on the way to Pokemon Go. So far, Mewtwo is the only confirmed exclusive raid battle, but in the future others will follow. Getting Mewtwo into the hands of fans as soon as possible may be a great way to change fans' minds. While his Focus Blast deals massive damage to Tyranitar, the Dark type Pokemon also happens to be the best counter for the boss as others tend to be somewhat squishy and rely a lot on dodging attacks.
