Nawaz Sharif asks people to guard democratic mandate

He prayed for the well being and protection of his brother and the rally participants

Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, on Friday filed her nomination papers for by-poll to the NA-120 seat that fell vacant after her husband's disqualification on July 28 by the c.

"A 13-year-old boy who had came to see the rally was hit by a auto in the convoy", Sajid Ali, head of the local Lalamusa police station, told AFP.

He has called the rallies a "democracy caravan".

Nawaz Sharif stated during his address at Gujranwala that he would visit the house of the deceased child and help his family in whatever capacity he could.

Asserting that he was ousted for the third time, Sharif questioned his gathered supporters at Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi late Wednesday night, "was this not an insult to your vote?"

Sharif is traveling in a bombproof vehicle especially designed for the journey, meant as a show of strength after the Supreme Court's decision has left his ruling party scrambling to replace him.

Sharif hopes to bring tens of thousands more into the streets in Lahore but it is not yet known when he will arrive in the Punjabi capital.

Umair Mazhar, 26, insisted no allegations of corruption had been proven against the former leader. Although Chaudhry and Aziz were very visible during the Panamagate proceedings in the Supreme Court, it is PML-N stalwarts such as Shehbaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who were conspicuous by their absence.

Sharif, 67, said that it was pity that none of the prime ministers in the 70-year history of the country have been allowed to complete their tenure.

Kalsoom Nawaz will run in the National Assembly by-election in northeastern Lahore next month for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

He was originally seen a placeholder for Sharif's younger brother, Shahbaz, who is chief minister of Punjab.

In the meantime, a 55-year-old person was also killed when he was hit by motorcyclist that he was going home after attending Sharif's rally.

PML-N leaders are in the process of making arrangements for more supporters to attend the rally, and as the convoy sets off towards Lahore once again.
