Jordan Spieth : American golfer says PGA win could make this best year

Seamus Power on his promising form on the PGA Tour

Our panel of ESPN and FantasyGolfInsider experts have laid out the players whom they believe have the skills to succeed and provide big fantasy-point totals.

There's a bunch of A-listers lined up behind the big two, including last week's victor at the Bridgestone Invitational Hideki Matsuyama, world No 1 Dustin Johnson and this year's other major champions Sergio Garcia and Brooks Koepka. He already has three wins this year and he finished second in this tournament in 2015 and 13 a year ago. New caddie or not, that could all equal major No. 5 this week.

That couldn't be until 2024 at the earliest, given the PGA Championship sites are set for the next six years. Each of the world's top-10 golfers will be at Quail Hollow this week, including one who has historically mastered the course. Oh, he also holds the course record of 61.

Spieth also could become the first to finish the career Slam with a victory at the PGA.

Jordan Spieth comes into this tournament with a lot of momentum.

Alongside Spieth in the feature group were the year's two other major winners, Masters victor Sergio Garcia of Spain and US Open champion Brooks Koepka, an American. Then again, maybe he can top that this week.

But 37-year-old Scott showed flashes of brilliance at the WGC-Bridgestone in OH last week, ranking eighth in the field for driving distance with an average tee shot of 311.3 yards and 31st for putting on greens reached in regulation.

"Almost like I've accomplished something so great this year that anything else that happens, I can accept". He's getting back to where he was two months ago.

"It's just that indescribable trait that he has to find a way to get it done, find the will to win".

To succeed at Quail Hollow, it is beneficial to be long off the tee and be able to score on par 5s. Meanwhile, with three-top-5 finishes in his last seven majors, WGC Bridgestone Invitational victor Matsuyama will definitely be a popular pick to become Japan's first ever major victor. In two appearances at this course for the Wells Fargo Championship, Finau has a T-28 and T-6.

The Holywood golfer is still looking for his first win of the season and, judging by the tracker at the Quail Hollow range, that winless run is nothing to do with his driver. Pieters still gets his feature in this space thanks to his excellent iron play which will be so crucial this week, and his ability to absolutely smash the ball off the tee when needed. So it's a platform for our association and the best 20 players in our association to show the world that they play the game at a high level.
