New Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is actually reasonably sized

Xbox One X gets 80 almost games in line

You can also get one bundled with a plain Black controller for $80. Microsoft just introduced a "new and improved" Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, which is 66 percent smaller than the original. This model has a metallic finish with a matte top and glossy buttons/triggers and D-pad.

Microsoft is also offering PC gamers the blue "Patrol Tech" controller with an included USB cable. This one will also set you back $69.99; it's available for pre-order and slated to begin shipping August 3.

The other is the Patrol Tech Special Edition, and is scheduled to arrive in stores from 5th September.

With roughly three months before Microsoft will officially release the Xbox One X, Xbox boss Phil Spencer made it known, via Twitter, that the pre-orders of the gaming system will soon be up.

"When it launches starting November 7, Xbox One X will bring gamers an incredible new level of console power and immersion", said Xbox's Corporate Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer - Mike Nichols. The back of the controller features our fan-favorite rubberized diamond grip for added control and comfort. The new design is half the size of the previous Wireless Adapter, which was a giant USB stick that sometimes blocked nearby USB ports on some cases and motherboards. While it is now smaller, the new adapter does not skimp on features, still allowing for eight controllers in total to be connected at once, alongside two stereo headsets or four chat headsets. Try going toe-to-toe with a keyboard and mouse gamer in Competitive mode in Counter-Striker (CS:GO) if you want to test the difference.

And when the Xbox One X does launch, it's been backed to create new growth for Microsoft, as well as the gaming industry as a whole. It is arguably the most compact adapter Microsoft has released so far.
