Kathy Griffin shaves head to support cancer-stricken sister

In a Wall Street Journal interview in 2015 she shared that the two shared a room growing

In an effort to support her sister going through chemo, Griffin shaved her head.

Comedian and actor Kathy Griffin, known for fiery red hair, has shaved her head. In one of the photos posted online, the comedian posed topless outdoors as she holds her bald head with her right hand.

Retweeting the USA reporter's Twitter post, she wrote: 'My daughter Kathleen Mary is a wonderful human being'.

Kathy tragically lost her older brother Gary Griffin in 2014, aged 63. This is a wonderful way for Griffin to show her sister that she is definitely not alone during this particularly trying time.

In the second photo, Griffin sits beside her mom Maggie Griffin, who covers her mouth in surprise after seeing special gesture the actress did in honor of her other daughter Joyce Griffin.

Maggie also shared the photos on her own Twitter account and shared how proud she is of her daughter. During an interview with The Wall Street Journal in 2015, she revealed that she shared a room with Joyce growing up. I am no longer under federal investigation. It wasn't amusing. I get it.

She wrote on Instagram, "The case is closed and I have been completely exonerated".

Griffin subsequently apologized for the tweet, saying she "was wrong" and "went too far" with the imagery, which she said stemmed from Trump's previous jabs involving blood aimed at journalist Megyn Kelly.
