Sabrett Hot Dogs Recalled After Customers Find Bones Inside — ALERT

Nearly 7.2M pounds of hot dogs recalled, could contain bone fragments

The recall includes Sabrett, Western Beef, Stew Leonard's, Papaya King, 1906 and Windmill hot dogs labels. One minor oral injury has been reported, FSIS said. "8864" inside the USDA mark of inspection are affected.

The USDA is issuing a recall for hotdogs made by Marathon Enterprises Inc., a Bronx, N.Y. establishment. One customer even reported a mouth injury after biting down on a piece of bone.

The recalled items were shipped to institutional and retail locations nationwide and bear establishment number "EST". The company did not reveal exactly how it happened, but according to the company's website, an equipment installation was quickly addressed. The hot dogs were sold all around the U.S.to retailers and institutions.

Check that brand name on the package of hot dogs in your fridge before you celebrate National Hot Dog Day on Wednesday.

If you bought Sabrett hot dogs during that time window you should throw them away or take them back to the store for a refund.

"Sabrett deeply regrets any concern or inconvenience this has caused its loyal customers", the company said.

Consumers with questions about this recall can contact Sabrett Consumer Relations at 1-800-SABRETT Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m.to 5:15 p.m.

The USDA released images of the food labels the company is recalling, which you can see here.

New York City consumers should be especially wary as numerous hot dogs sold by street vendors are Sabrett brand.
