A 16-year-old boy in London was arrested and charged with 15 offenses after a string of acid attacks left five people injured.

Police, who are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, said one victim has been left with "life-changing" injuries.

Five separate male victims - all on mopeds - were allegedly targeted by two moped-riding attackers.

According to the police age, boy age 16 had already been held on the suspicion of robbery causing awful body harm, two men riding moped threw acid on individuals in five separate attacks in the early hour of the morning after he was identified near the scene.

The attacks began when two attackers on a moped pulled up beside a 32-year-old man on another moped, before throwing acid in his face and stealing his vehicle.

"There were only two police officers with the victim, they took out two large water canisters and poured it over him".

Another victim, 24, who has not been named, has suffered "life-changing" injuries.

Following this incident, a corrosive substance was reported to have been thrown in the face of a man (no further details) by two males on a moped in Shoreditch High Street, E8 at 23:05hrs.

Mrs Rudd said the review would examine existing laws, the response from police, access to harmful produces and support offered to victims.

Within 15 minutes, a corrosive substance was hurled at a man on Upper Clapton Road, causing "life-changing" facial injuries.

After spraying the liquid into the victim's face, the moped was stolen and both attackers fled.

"People said he was attacked".

Acid attacks are barbaric crimes which have no place in our city or anywhere else, and my thoughts are with all those affected in last night's attacks.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said the number of acid attacks appeared to have risen in the capital, though they remained relatively rare. They stole his moped and made off.

Police said their investigations into the attacks were still ongoing.
