New 23 August launch date suggested for Samsung Galaxy Note 8

There's also the fact that the Note 8's arrival is nearing so maybe the South Korea tech giant just wants to focus more on the new phablet.

A Samsung spokesperson told The Investor the larger-screen handset will be unveiled later next month in NY, but the company wouldn't confirm the reported date of August 23.

The report claims an unnamed Samsung executive shared the release date plans, and the phone will launch in "early September".

Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 was a huge failure. In fact, to be precise, the date has been reported to be August 23. Yeah, the Galaxy Note 8 will probably look a lot like that, albeit with its curves a little flattened out (but not entirely so).

The first generations of the Note series launched at IFA in early September, but for the past couple releases Samsung preferred staging standalone Unpacked events in NY. So, if that happens, the Galaxy Note 8 will rule the smartphone market, at least until the next-gen iPhone arrives.

Samsung's premium flagship phone, the Galaxy S8, has so far failed to live up to the fan expectations and resulted in poor sales of the handset. If Samsung were to wait for Apple's Tim Cook to announce their new flagship smartphone, that would mean they would lose valuable time in which they could have established a solid relationship with their consumers.

In recent times, various images of the prototype units of Galaxy Note 8 have leaked online. Otherwise, the Galaxy S8 64GB version is available at 570 euros at the same merchant. The phone will be backed by 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

According to Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the dual camera module of the Note 8 might support 3X optical zoom, enhanced HDR, and perspective view.
