Joel Embiid extremely anxious Fultz left game

Sixers Sign 2017 First Overall Pick Markelle Fultz

1 overall draft pick Markelle Fultz suffered a sprained left ankle and had to be helped off the court during his team's Summer League contest against Golden State on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Sixers summer league coach Lloyd Pierce said Fultz has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle and 'will be treated accordingly.' Fultz will not play Sunday, but there is no timetable for his return to action.

Fultz has had a history of knee issues and an ankle injury in his third exhibition game as a pro will not do much to erase recent trends or the worries of fans who know this feeling all too well. "Again, based on the initial diagnosis, you rather hear that than something worse".

Financial terms of Fultz's deal were not disclosed by the team, which pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Boston Celtics prior to the draft to allow Philadelphia to move up two spots to own the top pick for the second straight year.

Fultz was a member of the 2016 Team USA Under-18 team that won the FIBA Americas World Championships last July.

But he'll be back in the (emptier) gym in a couple weeks, readying for the season.

Safe to say we won't be seeing Fultz in anymore Summer League games and I'd be perfectly okay if the Sixers never participated in them moving forward. And then he was ruled out for the whole season. Both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have had to sit out entire seasons due to injuries.
