Mini SNES Classic Release Date, Price, & Games Lineup

Nintendo is releasing the Super NES Classic Edition on September 29th

However, Nintendo has told Kotaku that the situation will be better this time, albeit with a big caveat.

Having two Nintendo game controllers will make it easy for two players to dive into multiplayer action right away.

While it remains to be seen if Nintendo underestimated demand once again, it does seem that the company has paid attention to the most frequent criticism levelled at the NES Classic hardware itself: the cables on the SNES Classic controllers will be 1.5 metres long, 60 centimetres longer than the tiny cords from previous year. Thankfully, the SNES Classic is compatible with both the classic controller and the classic controller pro. In a statement sent to Time, the gaming giant said it will ship "significantly more units" of the SNES Classic Edition than its predecessor. Then the SNES Classic was followed by the NES Classic, which was launched previous year but unfortunately was discontinued from this April. And the ones that were just listed aren't even the only ones, so you can expect a bunch of others when the SNES Classic actually comes out.

The NES Classic Mini should have been a home run for Nintendo- and if the intent was to generate some awareness and buzz around the Nintendo brand again, then I guess it was.

Nintendo SNES Classic: What Games Are Included? As an added bonus, the never-before-released sequel to the original Star Fox Super NES game - Star Fox 2 - will come with the system.

Rather cheekily, Nintendo is selling the USB AC Adapter separately for $19.95 - if your TV doesn't have a USB port, this is required to play the system and brings the total to $139.94.

The Nintendo Classic Mini NES was notoriously hard to get hold of. Despite being a runaway success, Nintendo quietly pulled the Classic Mini NES from sale previous year.

If you haven't already heard, Nintendo today announced that they would be releasing the SNES Classic - a logical follow up to last year's NES Classic - this September.
