Showers, Storms Move Out Thursday Evening

Tuesday storms could bring rain to Richmond | WTVR.com

- Any storm that pops this afternoon could produce gusty winds, hail & heavy rain.

We'll stay fairly dry tonight. Temps will be a few degrees cooler today with temps in the upper 70s and low 80s. This means more clouds, stray showers and cool conditions for Sunday through early next week. It will be muggy with lows in the lower 70s. We'll also get a little taste of summer heat as highs reach the 80s for all cities east of the foothills, so it'll be a bit toasty out there! Just be ready for an occasional shower or thunderstorm if you have something planned outdoors.

NEXT WEEK: Showers and storms remain possible Monday, but they should begin to thin out Tuesday as a pattern change takes place. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s.

Mississippi River Level: The latest Mississippi River stage at the Carrollton Gage is cresting at about 16.3 feet. Be sure to check back for regular forecast updates, as tomorrow's rain chances rumble in. Saturday doesn't look too bad, with only isolated storms expected at this point (20-30% chance), but Sunday and Monday look to bring a more widespread rain and storm threat (50-60%). Some of these storms could be strong or severe, but the weekend does not look like a washout. Winds E 5-10 miles per hour. Lows around 73. Wind E/SE 3-5 miles per hour.

It's another day to be weather aware as we track potential showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Winds: S 10-15. High: 87.

Cue the groans. Yes, more rain and thunderstorms are on the way for today. Lows around 74. Highs around 84. The combination of both will result in 70 percent coverage of rain by the end of the day, even though we don't expect it to rain everywhere all day long.
