Shadow Brokers Warn of June Data Dump

Shadow Brokers resurface, offer to sell fresh 'wine of month' club exploits

Obviously, the group could not care less about the harm this "data dumping service" could cause. On Monday night, the group-which so far has made good on most of the threats it has foreshadowed-published a new dispatch that claimed to possess 75 percent of the NSA arsenal.

Few buyers came forward, the group said in its blog post. "Comey Wanna Cry Edition" the group accused the NSA of paying Microsoft to keep vulnerabilities in its software.

Conspiracy plays a central theme in the post as the Shadow Brokers claim the NSA is paying United States tech companies not to patch.

Shadow Brokers, the group that previously leaked the tools responsible for the global ransomware attack that followed, has threatened that it would soon release more Windows related exploits and the associated malware.

A similar situation happened with Oracle, the group claims, but it didn't list the timeline of Oracle patching a "huge number of vulnerabilities" after purportedly being given a heads-up by the NSA about the Shadow Brokers-held exploits.

In fact, the only thing we really know about the group's choice of clientele is their frustration that no tech companies or national governments were willing to pay the ransom.

He has been in custody since his arrest and is facing espionage charges.

WannaCry spread using a flaw in versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system that were leaked in mid-April by Shadow Brokers, which said it had found the exploits in NSA servers that it had breached earlier. NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and others confirmed the leak was authentic.

He added that most of the exploits The Shadow Brokers May release are still patchable, though exploits to Android handsets might remain "devastating". At the end of the letter, the hacker group hinted the NSA could make all these problems go away if the agency paid up for the tools.

WannaCry ransomware attack might have slowed down, but it has managed to infect over 300,000 computers globally, with many businesses and even hospitals losing access to precious data.

In its Tuesday blog post, the group expressed its surprise that governments or tech companies didn't bid in its past auctions. That holding back of exploits, in theory, is the reason why Microsoft's Chief Legal Officer Brad Smith was so mad about WannaCry and the USA government stockpiling vulnerabilities.

Its warning allowed Microsoft to fix the issue with a patch that was issued in March, weeks before The Shadow Brokers leaked EternalBlue online.

They were easy to be exploited because they were not getting regular security patches from Microsoft automatically.

"TheEquationGroup is having spies inside Microsoft and other USA technology companies". Unlike before, this time, the group has not provided any teasers or demo files to sustain their claims.
