Florence Henderson, upbeat mom of 'The Brady Bunch,' dies at 82

Three days before her death, Florence Henderson supported her onscreen Brady Bunch daughter Maureen McCormick and the cast of Dancing With the Stars on the show's season finale.

Henderson died November 24, 2016, at a Los Angeles hospital. She died at Cedaris-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from heart failure.

Most recently, Henderson hosted her own talk show, The Florence Henderson Show, and cooking show, Who's Cooking with Florence Henderson, on the Retirement Living TV channel. And what better way to celebrate Henderson's memory than with a shoe homage? She gave us an idealized template for how a matriarch should be - patient and loving with an on-trend wardrobe and just a hint of sternness when her kids were "taking a joke too far". She was so kind and would always take time.

Florence Agnes Henderson was born February 14, 1934, in Dale, Indiana, the youngest of 10 children. The loss of her can not be recovered as she made remarkable achievement in the community.

Even 40 years later, parts of the show are still staples of pop culture: The upbeat theme song and Rubik's cube-style opening, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia", the football moment and of course, Henderson herself - with her big blue eyes and signature blonde coiffure. In this May 2015 photo, actress Florence Henderson spoke during the Alzheimer's Association, Orange County's 9th annual Visionary Women Luncheon at Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado, Calif. Henderson, th.

Florence is survived by her children Barbara, Lizzie, Joseph, Robert, and their spouses, as well as five grandchildren. She will be loved forever. She sang on the street and passed the hat to supplement the meager earnings of her alcoholic father.

The blond, ever-smiling Henderson was already a Broadway star when the show began, having originated the title role in the musical "Fanny".

Those who didn't know Henderson personally will remember her by her lasting legacy - the lovely lady, Carol Brady.

Henderson was asked in a 1999 Archive of American Television interview how she would like to be remembered. "It is for them that my heart is aching." she wrote on Facebook. "She appreciated everything that came her way because she had to sing for her supper and she worked hard", she said. She toured in the role of Maria in "The Sound of Music" in 1961, then a year later became the first woman to sit in as a guest host of "The Tonight Show".

Lookinland was only 8 years old when the blended-family show debuted on ABC in 1969.

She dropped out of the program after one year, however, to take the role in “Wish You Were There.”. Her second husband, John Kappas, a hypnotherapist who helped her overcome her stage fright and fear of flying, died in 2002.
