Harry Connick Jr. replaces Billy Bush on NBC 'Today' show

A lot has been conjectured about the experience of Days of Our Lives actress Arianne Zucker, who was unwillingly thrust into the spotlight when audio of Trump salivating over her and declaring his commitment to non-consensual crotch-grabbing leaked on Friday.

The tape in question was from 2005, when Bush was a host on the entertainment news show Access Hollywood.

Bush, who has been suspended from his new job co-hosting "Today" and who is negotiating a separation agreement with NBC, has drawn almost as much ire from Trump critics.

It's a nice reminder though that not everybody at NBC is trying sweep the drama surrounding Bush's comments completely under the rug.

Once the tape was out, executives ultimately decided that Bush could not return to "Today". While it seemed at first Bush wouldn't really face any professional consequences, his suspension was announced the Sunday after the tape was released and the writing on the wall pretty much pointed to him being out at "Today". They've spurred a flurry of sexual-assault allegations from women who've come into contact with Trump over the years, but on Thursday Zucker told Today that they didn't surprise her.

"This was a hard decision", NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke said a year ago when reinstating Williams.

According to sources, NBC's rollout for the tape included releasing an edited version that left out Bush's own inappropriate behavior, like pushing Trump to get a hug from the soap star they were meeting and pushing to get a hug himself, and saying, "Jeez!"

Bush's attorney also says that NBC brass were aware of the tape as early as this summer when Bush was covering the Olympics in Rio.

Negotiations between Bush and NBC are ongoing and "productive", Bush's lawyer Marshall Grossman told CNNMoney on Saturday. Meyers referred to him as "the pervert on the bus" and said that there is "currently a higher standard for the third hour of the "Today Show" than there is for the Republican nominee for president".

As of Saturday, October 15, Bush's public and private Facebook pages were taken down. Just kiss. I don't even wait.

Bush's former "Access Hollywood" colleague, Kit Hoover, emotionally defended Bush on the air.

"I'm ready to use it for positivity", she said.
