Post Debate Poll Shows Millennials Turn Towards Clinton

Trump and his supporters repeatedly have cited what they refer to as polls that show him as the victor. He hinted at them, talked about them immediately afterward and then sent his campaign's top backers out to do the same. Clinton was asked on her campaign plane whether she has an obligation to speak out if Trump brings up her husband's infidelities.

"The entire description of today's call is completely false and anybody saying otherwise is just making it up", he said.

Overall, the poll found 52% who watched the debate thought Clinton won, 21% went for Trump while 26% felt neither candidate did enough to win the contest. The first of four debates for the 2016 Election, three Presidential and one Vice Presidential, is moderated by NBC's Lester Holt. Still, Trump's numbers on the question of honesty have plunged 8 points since the last survey, while Clinton's have stayed steady.

Indeed, the Times account squares with other reports of Trump's lack of preparation published even before the debate, which Matt Yglesias wrote about here.

One ally described Trump as the kind of guy who can't simply be told a stove is hot - he has to touch it to see for himself.

"I'm really proud of him for doing that and I think a lot of people recognize that".

According to Fox News Politics, Trump has said that he plans to "hit her [Clinton] harder in certain ways".

"He just didn't use them", an adviser said. "We're going to do a real job for the state of New Hampshire".

Hillary Clinton has received a modest bounce in the first poll taken since her strong performance at the first presidential debate between her and Donald Trump.

When Trump was told Tuesday that he should do some things differently, he responded that his approach is what his base likes.

Twitter announced that it was also a record-setting night for the company with 17.1 million interactions from 2.7 million people in the USA, topping the 10.3 million tweets from the 2012 match-up between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Shorting the peso has been the trade of choice for those forecasting a Trump win, with markets pricing in the possibility of a November victory for the Republican candidate given the recent rise in Trump's popularity.

With the first public debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump now behind us, it would seem that the markets have given Clinton the nod.
